When the cloned Emperor Palpatine died several of his dark underlings began competing for power. Over time one man stuck out as a dominant force in the galaxy; he had rallied many worlds under the Imperial banner, he was High Advisor Calrennin. Calrennin declared himself Emperor and began an attempt to unite the Core worlds under Imperial rule.
Far from Calrennin in the Core, another one of Palpatine's minions was gaining momentum in the Outer Regions. Garris Doole had proclaimed himself Lord of Sith after years of studying scriptures and tombs of the old Sith Lords. Doole's power was unmatched in the Outer Regions and Imperial worlds quickly fell under his rule. Doole received word that Palpatine had returned and he made preparations to rush towards Byss and meet with his Dark Master; unfortunately news travels slowly in the Outer Regions and before Doole even left Palpatine had been slain.
Doole arrived in the core with the massive war fleet to receive word that Palpatine had died several months before he had even jumped to hyperspace. Out of anger he ordered a bombardment of the nearest habitable world. Doole's fleet hung over a nearby system when another Imperial fleet, answering the distress call of the world flickered out of hyperspace. Doole attempted to make the Imperial fleet a part of his own, but met a man who's dark presence reminded him of Palpatine.
Doole and Calrennin began discussions of a merger between their two Empires. Meanwhile another Imperial force laid siege to Byss. Doole and Calrennin's combined fleets rushed towards Byss only to find themselves outgunned. The battle was going poorly when another fleet dropped from hyperspace in the outer reaches of Byss. A man calling himself Grand Admiral Loystmann lead the fleet directly from wild space and began to strike at the Rogue Imperials over Byss. Eventually Doole, Calrennin, and Loystmann's fleets were all that remained over Byss. On the surface of Byss a battle group of Imperials led by Joe Chakenerner and loyal to Calrennin were able to neutralize the Rogue Imperials.
After Byss had been freed all acting parties sat down and formed the Third Imperium. One month after the declaration had been signed tragedy struck, Emperor Calrennin was found dead in his chambers. Supreme Commander Doole took over the majority of the running of the Empire with the loss of the Emperor. After months of shadow rule Doole was ready to proclaim himself the new Emperor; unfortunately he was the last of the original four that formed the Third Imperium. Loystmann and Chakenerner had both retired from service, but new leaders arose in their place. With his new government in place Doole is beginning the final stages of his plan to strike back at the self-proclaimed "New Republic". The Imperial Destiny of Galactic rule would soon become a reality.
